CERAMIC TILES ARE THE COATING PREFERED BY CONSUMERS
Spanish consumers consider ceramic tiles as the best industrial coating the market can offer. According to a the study Spanish Consumer Report, Carried out by experts from the Spanish Ceramics Technology Market Institute (ITC in Spanish), on the purchasing preferences of coatings, ceramic surfaces and coatings are in the lead compared to their competitors.
Ceramic tiles have obtained 3.94 points compared to marble (3.81), terrazzo (3.60) and wood (3.79). This is mainly because ceramics are easy to clean, although it also receieved a high score for its maintenance, innovation and quality.
However, ceramic tiles are below its competitors with regards to their natural look, warmness and prestige, aspects in which marble gets the highest score. Nevertheless, ITC highlights that the difference between ceramics and marble has been decreasing since 2002.
According to the study, 80% of those who refurbished their homes used ceramic tiles. Ceramic surfaces are stil the most demandes material for floors, bathrooms, kitchens and outerdoor areas, where other products are barely present, but it loses the lead in living rooms, dorms and indoor areas in general, where wood is still dominates.
