Description
Morflex Plus is a cost effective premium grade flexible tile adhesive. It is a powdered cement-based, polymer modified adhesive used to bond all types of tiles to a variety of substrates. The larger volume bag gives an extra 2-3 square metres per bag offering better value than other similar tile adhesives.
Precautions

Morflex Plus is unsuitable for:

* bonding moisture sensitive green marble;
* bonding to painted walls, MDF board, (timber and wax impregnated wood must be sheeted with fibre cement sheeting);
* substrates subject to constant water immersion such as swimming pools.

Surface Preparation

All surfaces to be tiled must be flat and true, free from oil, dirt, grease or any other contaminants. Very porous surfaces should be primed with Plastinex (1 part Plastinex mixed with 4 parts water).

Concrete : New concrete must be allowed to cure for 6 weeks and should have a wood flat finish. When finished with a steel trowel, concrete must be acid etched, using Floor Prep.

Cement Render : Render to be left with a wood float finish and allowed to cure for 7 days.

Fibre Cement Sheets : Compressed fibre sheets should be primed with Plastinex (1 part Plastinex mixed with 4 parts water) and all joints to be taped with PVC duct tape and fixed according to manufacturer’s instructions.

Plasterboard : Must be fixed as per manufacturer’s instructions. Jointing compound must be primed with Plastinex (1 part Plastinex mixed with 4 parts water).

Mixing Morflex Plus

Add Morflex Plus to clean water at a ratio of 20 kg to 6 litres of water. Mix product to a smooth paste free from lumps by using a drill that has a speed lower than 300 rpm, or mix by hand. Slacken the adhesive and re-mix after 5 minutes.

Pot Life

Morflex Plus has a pot life of approximately 1-2 hours at 20oC and 50% relative humidity.

Open Time

Morflex Plus has an open time of approximately 30 minutes, which can be shortened to just a few minutes by the action of sun, wind, high temperatures or highly absorbent surfaces. Tilers need to constantly check that the adhesive has not formed a surface skin and is still fresh to the touch.

Wetting or priming the substrate prior to tiling prolongs the open time of the adhesive. It is not advisable to wet the adhesive when it has formed a skin as water only increases the rate of cement hydration and will result in an anti adhesive film. Skinned adhesive must always be removed and disposed of.

Application

Always install the tiles in accordance with AS 3958 1:1991 and ensure the backs of the tiles are free of dust. Spread Morflex Plus evenly across one square metre at a time with a 6 x 6 x 6 notched trowel for walls or a 10 x 10 x 10 notched trowel for floors. The choice of trowel should be governed by the depth of the knobs, grooves or ridges on the back of the tile and the evenness of the substrate.

Lay the tiles with a fair pressure and at right angles to the notched pattern.

The final bed of adhesive should be between 2mm and 4mm. Wall tiles should have a finished joint width of 2mm – 4mm and floor files a finished joint width of 3mm – 6mm. Tiles can be adjusted for approximately 10-15 minutes after laying.

Coverage

20 kgs of Morflex Plus will cover approximately 8-10 square metres with a 10mm notched trowel for floors and/or 11-12 square metres with a 6mm notched trowel.

Dry Time

Morflex Plus dries in approximately 6 hours and cured within 24 hours at 23oC and 50% relative humidity. It may require longer times to cure for denser tiles and substrates or at installation temperatures below 10oC.

Work has started on the new terminal at Delhi International Airport.

The Indian sales network, which has a workforce of 45, is estimated to produce an annual turnover of approximately 5 million Euros when fully operational, thanks to the high potential of the local market.

The building sector in India has seen considerable growth over recent years, following heavy investment in residential building (which represents over 74% of the market), together with non-residential building and public expenditure in infrastructure.

The lack of housing, the need for the redevelopment of a large part of existing buildings, the lack of infrastructure and the need for commercial and industrial premises are the main factors behind this development in the building and infrastructure sector in India.

In particular, according to the estimates drawn up by the National Building Association, by 2021 it is calculated that there will be a need for 77 million residential housing units in urban areas, and over 63 million in country areas.

With reference to non-residential development, in the eight main cities the demand for office space has risen from 3.5 million sq ft in 1998 to 16 million sq ft in 2004, and reached 85 million sq ft in 2008. The demand is mainly concentrated in the so-called Central Business Districts of Mumbai and Delhi, although there is also considerable growth in other cities such as Bangalore, Gurgaon, Hyderabad, Chennai, Kolkata.

Likewise there is great interest in infrastructure and large projects, with an expected investment of 500 billion dollars over the next five years in energy, ports, roads, underground rail networks, and goods transport by rail.

It is in this context that Kerakoll has become involved in the construction of the new Terminal 3 at Indira Gandhi International Airport in Delhi, managed by GMR, one of the most important infrastructure companies in the Country, through the joint venture DIAL (Delhi International Airport Limited), which has been set up to extend the airport itself and run it for 30 years, and has assigned planning to HOK, an organisation that operates in 24 countries with a staff of over 2,000.

The plan is to bring the airport’s handling capacity from the current 20 million up to 60 million passengers per year, also creating a new runway, and the main operation is the construction of a new 250,000 m2 Terminal, which alone will be capable of handling 34 million passengers per year and 55 aircraft.

Completion of the work, which has just started, is expected to take place on 31st March 2010, just in time for the Commonwealth Games, which are to be held the following October, for the first time in India and for the second time in Asia.

The idea behind the plans for Terminal 3 is to create an environment with muted colours that is mainly illuminated by natural light. The arrivals area in particular has been designed to give a truly memorable welcome to India.

Great attention has been given to the flooring. The material selected is natural stone, which will give the feel required for the project: approximately 100,000 m2 will be made of granite from Barhain, Saudi Bianco, with inserts in Indian Kashmiri Gold and GB4 granites, all in 80×80 cm slabs.

To carry out the work, the Kerakoll India team supported GMR’s planners by means of site and laboratory tests so as to recommend the best possible laying cycle; a number of tests were also carried out in the Kerakoll research and development centre to evaluate the behaviour of the local stones and sand, adhesion to the stones, the bearing characteristics and resistances of the screed and finally the performance of the entire system when laid.

Today, over 40% of the turnover for the Kerakoll Group is produced abroad, and this international role is destined to increase further still: the recent opening of commercial branches in Sweden, Portugal, Croatia and Hungary has brought the number of Countries in which the Group is present up to 15: in Spain, Poland and Greece the Group already boasts a direct presence with manufacturing plants, while in the remaining Countries the commercial presence is achieved through local partnerships or trading companies.

DESCRIPTION
Conflex is a flexible, powdered adhesive for wall and floor applications. Suitable over
concrete, cement render, screeds, fibrous cement sheeting, plasterboard and ASA
approved waterproof membranes. Conflex is recommended for all internal and external
applications including bathrooms, toilets, laundries, kitchens, driveways, decks, verandahs
and existing tiles. Conflex is suitable for bonding all types of tiles.

SURFACE PREPARATION
All surfaces must be clean, dry, and be free from dust, grease, wax, oil, laitance curing compounds and all
other contaminants likely to prevent the adhesive bonding. Highly porous substrates must be primed with ASA
Multiprime prior to tiling. Building boards must be fi xed in accordance with the manufacturer’s printed directions.
Concrete should be allowed to cure for at least 7 days and cement render 1 day prior to tiling. A wood fl oat finish is
preferred. Waterproof membranes must have dried in accordance with the printed directions on the packaging.
EXPANSION JOINTS
Movement joints must be incorporated in the tile layout in accordance with AS3958.1-1991 clauses 5.4.5.1 to 6.
MIXING
25kg of Conflex powder requires approximately 6 litres of water which produces 18 litres of mixed product. Add a
measured amount of water into a clean container and sprinkle Confl ex slowly into the liquid with constant stirring.
Eliminate lumps. Mix to a thick toothpaste consistency. Allow to stand for 2 minutes. Mix again. Adhesive is now
ready to use.
APPLICATION
Apply the mixed adhesive to the substrate using the appropriate notched trowel for the size of the tile being laid. A
minimum of 1mm bed thickness for walls and 3mm for floors must be achieved. Ensure that the bedded tiles are
fully supported by the adhesive with no voids underneath or behind. Lay tiles into the adhesive before it skins. The
adhesive may also need to be applied to the back of the tiles to accommodate required levels. Do not disturb tiles
until the adhesive has dried. Commence grouting after 24 hours when tile work is fi rm.
GROUTING
Use the appropriate ASA grout, allowing joint widths of 1.5mm to 6mm for walls and 3mm to 12mm for fl oors as
per AS3958.1-1991 clauses 5.4.6.
CLEAN UP
Conflex can be removed from the surface of the tiles using a damp cloth while the adhesive is still wet. Tools and
equipment can be cleaned with warm water and detergent prior to adhesive drying.

14kg and 25kg paper bags.
POT LIFE
3.5 hours at 22°C and 50%RH Setting time: 24 hours at 22°C and 50%RH.

COVERAGE
1.5kg powder per m² using a 6mm x 6mm notched trowel and 3kg powder per m² using a 12mm x 12mm notched
trowel.
SAFETY PRECAUTIONS
This product is non-toxic but contains cement. Use good occupational health and safety practices to avoid personal
contact. ASA recommend the use of dustmasks, eye protection and wearing of gloves when handling. For more

SHELF LIFE
Unopened bags can be stored for up to 12 months in a cool, dry and weatherproof environment. Bags must be
stored off the fl oor.
LIMITATIONS
• Not suitable for tiling directly onto timber
• Not recommended for continuous water immersion applications, eg: swimming pools and spas etc.
• Not recommended for metal or plastic substrates.

Blue Label is a grey, acrylic based, flexible, pre-mixed, interior, thin bed, wall and floor tile adhesive.
USES
•
Blue Label can only be used for interior wall and floor tiling installations.
•
Blue Label can be used for thin bed fixing of tiles directly onto fibre cement sheeting, plasterboard and rendered walls, as well as timber floors, with a correctly installed fibre cement sheet tile underlay.

Blue Label, when used on floor areas is only suitable for light domestic trafficked areas.

Blue Label can be used to fix most types of porous ceramic and marble wall and floor tiles, with the exception of light coloured or green marbles.

SURFACE PREPARATION
•
All surfaces must be structurally sound, dry, clean and free from movement, oil, grease, wax, curing compounds and any other loose or contaminating materials.
•
All building boards must be flat and firmly fixed according to the manufacturer’s instructions and relevant Australian Standard(s).
•
Painted surfaces must be scabbled/abraded to expose at least 80% of the original substrate.
•
Newly rendered surfaces must be allowed to cure for at least 7 days and have a wood float finish.
•
Old rendered surfaces must be thoroughly cleaned prior to tiling and have a wood float finish.
•
Porous/dusty surfaces must initially be primed using Davco Ultraprime.
Movement joints should be provided as follows:
1.
Over movement joints in the background.
2.
At a junction between different background materials.
3.
At fixtures interrupting the tile surface e.g. columns.
4.
At internal vertical corners.
5.
Around the perimeter of the tiling system.
6.
At a maximum of 5 metre intervals in a grid pattern.
Note: Movement joints should go right through the tile and adhesive bed to the background and be kept free from dirt and adhesive droppings. Movement joints should not be more than 6mm wide nor greater than 10mm wide. Movement joints that are 6mm wide can be filled with Davco Sanitized® Colorcaulk. For wider applications use Davco Davsil, polysulphide or polyurethane type fillers.
APPLICATION
•
Spread the adhesive onto the substrate using a 6mm x 6mm notched trowel for installation of wall tiles up to 150mm x 150mm.
•
For the installation of floor tiles or wall tiles larger than 150mm x 150mm use a 10mm x 10mm-notched trowel.
•
Tiles with lugs, grooves or an uneven back must initially be butter coated with the adhesive, in addition to the adhesive being trowelled onto the substrate.
•
For mosaic tiles, use a 6mm x 6mm-notched trowel.
•
A minimum final bed thickness of 2mm is recommended for wall tiles, whilst a minimum final bed thickness of 3mm is recommended for floor tiles, but the final bed thickness in either case must not exceed 4mm.
•
Do not spread more than 1m2 of adhesive at any one time.
•
Press tiles firmly into position before the adhesive skins, ensuring that all the tiles are well bedded and that no voids occur under the tiles.
•
Occasionally, in order to ensure that full coverage is being maintained, a tile should be removed, the adhesive coverage noted and the tile relaid accordingly.
•
Once the tiles have been laid, they must not be disturbed for 24 hours at 20oC.

GROUTING
PACKAGING
•
Grouting can be carried out 24 hours after the completion of tiling.
Available in 1, 4, 10 and 20 litre containers.
•
Use the Davco grout that best suits the tiling installation. Refer to the Davco Adhesive and Grout Selection Guide for further information.
SHELF LIFE
Blue Label in unopened containers, has a shelf life of up to 12 months, stored in a cool, dry place.
•
To enhance colour, increase water resistance and flexibility of the grout, use Davco Grout Additive. This is particularly recommended when grouting over timber or fibre cement sheeted floors, to minimise the likelihood of the grout cracking/powdering.

curing compounds and any other loose or
contaminating materials.
• All building boards must be flat and firmly fixed
according to the manufacturer’s instructions and
relevant Australian Standard(s).
• Painted surfaces must be scabbled/abraded to
expose at least 80% of the original substrate.
• Newly rendered surfaces must be allowed to
cure for at least 7 days and have a wood float
finish.
• Old rendered surfaces must be thoroughly
cleaned prior to tiling and have a wood float
finish.
• Porous/dusty surfaces must initially be primed
using Davco Ultraprime.
Movement joints should be provided as follows:
1. Over movement joints in the background.
2. At a junction between different background
materials.
3. At fixtures interrupting the tile surface e.g.
columns.
4. At internal vertical corners.
5. Around the perimeter of the tiling system.
6. At a maximum of 5 metre intervals in a grid
pattern.
Note: Movement joints should go right through the tile
and adhesive bed to the background and be kept free
from dirt and adhesive droppings. Movement joints
should not be more than 6mm wide nor greater than
10mm wide. Movement joints that are 6mm wide can
be filled with Davco’s Sanitized® Colorcaulk. For
wider applications use Davco Davsil or polysulphide
and polyurethane type fillers.
APPLICATION
• Spread the adhesive onto the substrate using a
6mm x 6mm notched trowel for installation of
tiles up to 150mm x 150mm.
• For the installation of tiles larger than 150mm x
150mm use a 10mm x 10mm notched trowel.
• Tiles with lugs, grooves or an uneven back must
initially be butter coated with the adhesive, in
addition to the adhesive being trowelled onto the
substrate.
• For mosaic tiles, use a 6mm x 6mm-notched
trowel.
• A minimum final bed thickness of 2mm is
recommended, but the final bed thickness must
not exceed 4mm.
• Do not spread more than 0.5m2 of adhesive at
one time.
• Press tiles firmly into position before the
adhesive skins, ensuring that all the tiles are well
bedded and that no voids occur under the tiles.
• Occasionally, in order to ensure that full
coverage is being maintained, a tile should be
removed, the adhesive coverage noted and the
tile be relaid accordingly.
• Once the tiles have been laid, they must not be
disturbed for 24 hours at 20oC.

GROUTING
• Grouting can be carried out 24 hours after the
completion of tiling.
• Use the Davco grout that best suits the tiling
installation. Refer to the Davco Adhesive and
Grout Selection Guide for further information.
• To enhance colour, increase water resistance
and flexibility of the grout, use Davco Grout
Additive. This is particularly recommended
when grouting over timber or fibre cement
sheeted floors, to minimise the likelihood of the
grout cracking/powdering.
• Allow 24 hours after grouting before putting the
area into service.
PRECAUTIONS
• Do not apply Flexible CTA in temperatures
above 40oC or below 5oC.
• Do not allow the adhesive to skin prior to laying
the tiles. If the adhesive skins, remove and
dispose of it, then re-apply fresh adhesive.
• Do not use Flexible CTA over impervious
surfaces (i.e. waterproofing membranes) or to
bond low porosity tiles.
• Flexible CTA is not suitable for fixing tiles
externally or onto floors.
• Flexible CTA is not suitable is not suitable for the
tiling of areas where continual
dampness/immersion occurs, such as shower
recess bases, swimming pools, spas, etc.

COVERAGE
One litre of Flexible CTA covers approximately
0.75m2 using a 6mm x 6mm notched trowel.
CLEAN UP
• Remove any excess adhesive from the face of
the tiles with a damp cloth, while the adhesive is
still wet.
• Clean tools and equipment with water before the
adhesive dries.
PACKAGING
Flexible CTA is available in 500ml, 1L, 4L, 10L and
15L, containers.
SHELF LIFE
Flexible CTA in unopened containers, has a shelf
life of up to 12 months, stored in a cool, dry place.

Cemflex -ONE PACK ECONOMICAL RUBBER BASED FLEXIBLE TILE ADHESIVE
CONSTRUCTION CHEMICALS.
DESCRIPTION
A flexible rubber based, fast setting, cementitious adhesive for bonding ceramic and stone tiles to porous and
non-porous surfaces subject to vibration and thermal movement.
FEATURES
• Meets the requirements of AS4992
• Suitable for shower floors
• Ideal for new concrete floors subject to shrinkage cracks
• Accommodates up to 0.4mm shrinkage cracks.
USES
A one pack thick or thin bed internal and external floor and wall flexible adhesive for fixing over most
substrates e.g. concrete, cement render, fibre cement sheets, plasterboard, existing properly prepared ceramic
tile and Construction Chemicals waterproof membranes. Not suitable for immersed or swimming pool
application. Construction Chemicals proves other systems. Do not use over timber floors.
PERFORMANCE DATA
Meets the performance requirement of AS4992 shear bond strength 1.5Mpa.
COVERAGE (Approximate)
20kg will cover 6-8m2 using a 10mm notched trowel, over a true surface.
SPECIFICATION
The ceramic tile adhesive will be a water resistant, fast setting flexible rubber based polymer modified cement
that conforms to AS4992 and has a minimum sheer bond strength of 1.5Mpa such as CEMFLEX manufactured
by Construction Chemicals and shall be applied in accordance with the manufacturers application instructions.
SURFACE PREPARATION
The surface to be tiled must be firm and clean, free from dust, waxes, paint and other contaminants. Steel floated
concrete floors must be primed with SUPER PRIME. Ceramic tiles primed with PRIMAX. Prime building boards,
cement sheets, porous surfaces and concrete with PRIMER AND GROUT ADDITIVE.
MIXING
Mix with clean water using 3-4 litres per 10kg to a thick creamy consistency. Pot life is approximately 2 hours,
depending on temperature.Allow to stand for 5-10 minutes and restir before use.
SET TIME
Approximately 8-12 hours, depending on temperature, humidity and surface porosity.Allow longer for dense
tiles.
APPLICATION
Apply adhesive with a notched trowel (6mm x 6mm for walls and 10mm x 10mm for floors) or butter the back
of tiles 3-5mm thick.The final bed thickness must not be less than 2mm for walls and 3mm for floors, to
accommodate movement. Spread about 1 metre at a time.Tiles must be set in place while the adhesive is still
wet on the surface. Press tiles firmly into the adhesive using a slight twisting motion.Tiles must be firmly bedded
into the adhesive so no voids occur beneath the tiles. Do not spot fix.

GROUTING
Grout after adhesive had set, approximately 8-12 hours. Use KEMGROUT mixed with PRIMER AND GROUT ADDITIVE or FLEXIBLE
GROUT ADDITIVE.
